AURA is an advanced, easy-to-use simulation tool for the design
and analysis of fiber grating structures. AURA is based on a full
Maxwell equation solver, rather than on coupled mode theory or
other approximation tools. Utilizing highly accurate algorithms, including
the Fast Multipole Method, errors of one part in a million are
obtained with modest computational effort — even for quantities
such as return loss and radiation loss. Given a frequency interval
of interest, AURA returns transmission loss, reflection, and radiation
spectra.
You can work with any radial index profile and any grating structure,
either by importing data using a simple ASCII file format, by
using a graphical user interface, or by modifying a sample from
our library. Grating period, chirp and apodization are easy to
adjust. Material dispersion characteristics can be incorporated
using a Sellmeier formula, an arbitrary function, or a data table. |
